The King of the Court basketball
tournament is the first of many MSF events to come. We plan
to continue the King of the Court basketball tournament at
the Royal Melbourne Show and Moomba Waterfest in Melbourne
every year we can, and soon we plan to take the event to Sydney,
and eventually all Australian cities.
For our next events, we plan to host a tournament at Prahran
Park in Melbourne, and also possibly a tournament up in Sydney
in 2008. Moomba Waterfest 2008 won't have a King of the Court
this year, due to the difficulty of finding a good surface
and dedicated sponsors.
If you would like to get involved
with the events, through sponsorship, collaborating, or as
a player, contact us here

King
of the Court - Melbourne Show 2007
From the 20th-30th of September 2007, we hosted the
3-on-3 basketball tournament at the Royal Melbourne Show,
one of Australia's biggest family festivals.
We had previously successfully hosted the same event at the
2004 Royal Melbourne Show and 2005 Moomba Waterfest, and this
event was no exception, King of the Court 2007 had over 1,000
participants step onto the court, while tens of thousands
of onlookers stopped by each of the 11 days. Full

King
of the Court - Melbourne Show 2004
From September 16-26th 2004, we had teamed up with
Nike to host our first major 3-on-3 event at one of Melbourne's
biggest festivals, the Royal Melbourne Show. Our goal was
to put on an event for the public that we believed we would
have liked when we were younger. The basketball competition
at the Melbourne Show was once a yearly event throughout the
90s, when we found out there was no longer basketball at the
Show, we took it upon ourselves to help bring it back. This
event was a great success with thousands of participants,
and will go down in history for years to come.

Hoop
Jam - Prahran Park 2007
On Saturday 3rd February 2007, MSF hosted a special
day at the Prahan Park in Melbourne, the court that we had
initiated the council to upgrade. The official upgrade was
in November 2006, though this day in February was our official
celebration of the newly developed court. With music and DJ's
set-up courtside, live performers and a few hundred ballers,
this local event was a great atmosphere to be a part of. We
plan to do more street-basketball events in the community
like this every summer, but hopefully it will INSPIRE YOU
to put together an event in your community! Check out the
video to the right to see how it all went down.
