MSF Courts Guide
Listing every basketball court in Australia

From the hardwood to the asphalt; the basketball court is where dreams are born and millions of people around Australia will go to clear their mind, get in shape, improve their skills or simply socialise with others who share the same love. The game is for people from all walks of life; breaking down barriers of language, culture, gender and age. Basketball courts are one of the very few things in this country that bring people together in a positive and healthy environment. Though the biggest problem has always been that very few people know where the most popular outdoor courts are at, or if the council will ever build a basketball court with better facilities.

Maybe Truline and Porter, the ring suppliers, are to blame for not providing councils with the most professional and encouraging hoops. We all know we can go to the local stadium and pay about $4 entry, that's only when volleyball or soccer haven't booked our courts. But the truth is, basketball should always be free. Money, distance and the courts quality should not hold back a kid from doing something positive. This is why we need to know; where are all the quality outdoor courts in this country? Why do we have state-of-the-art skate parks and low-budget basketball courts out there? If we get out there and populate the current courts, upgrades will follow.

MSF have found over the years there are a few quality courts hidden across the country, we've also influenced a council in Melbourne to upgrade a court for 70,000 government dollars, known today as Prahran Park. This is something we want to influence in other cities. The purpose of this courts guide is to help you guys around the country and the tourists around the world, find the most popular and best quality outdoor basketball courts in the land of Australia.

Check out the list and keep in touch with MSF as we continue to add new courts. If you know a court in your area that hasn't been listed, hook it up!

All it takes is one person, like yourself, to get out there, take photos and send us details of local courts in your city. Together we can put together the most complete list of basketball courts in Australia ever.

Let's get moving!
